“Hypnos and Thanatos are brothers: Sofia of Chalepas” (poem)
On a freezing white bed your marvelous form has fallen asleep eternally resting Your light head as feathers, is carried by your carved pillow, your fingers are softly holding at times a rose, at times a lily. And I must say, though Geras, son of Death, your breath back then was young as flawless as the body of a young girl in love and so is the Tinian marble you are made of. When the breeze blows, my leaf drifts to touch your forehead. I am the plumtree above your tomb Forevermore, I shall be your tenor for whom you once would have given your very soul.
